SLO, GER, NOR and HUN (1st, 2nd, 3rd and 5th in 1999 Worlds) are the most likely
candidates for Olympic medals. SLO should win the gold and GER the silver. But NOR has the
ability to beat GER, and placed 2nd, 1st and 2nd in the three World Cup regattas this
summer. Still, GER has shown some early speed in Sydney and may have shrugged off its
mediocre performances at World Cup. ITA could be a surprise bronze medalist here with a
