Top 2 crews to FA final. Third place to FB final. As predicted, the order of finish
here was USA (defending World Champions), ROM (4th at 1999 Worlds) and CAN. USA and ROM
move on to the FA final. ROM took the early lead at 500 meters, but the USA went through
them to lead at the 1000. Then it got real interesting, as both ROM and CAN started coming
back on the USA in the 3rd 500 meter interval. With 500 meters to go, the USA led ROM by
0.4 seconds and CAN by 1.3 seconds. CAN's move stopped there, but ROM came on more in the
final 500 and fell short of winning by about a bow ball. Take a look at the Instant Replay
on this one.
