GBR looks good for a place in the FA final with a victory in this race. ITA has
recently beefed up its 8+ with members from it recent World Championship quad group, and
is strong for the first 1000 meters. ITA needs to hold off GBR's expected move at the 1000
to be in position to win this race, and certainly has to be ready for a strong challenge
from NED in the last 1000 meters to capture 2nd place for a slot in the FA final. RUS
needs to do better in the first 500, make its expected move up a bit in the 2nd 500, stop
everyone's moves in the 3rd 500, and put a good closing sprint together. >From the
looks of the splits in the race prediction report that follows which is a straight mix of
the crews' times in their heats, the times to the 1500 look about right, but some backing
off in the RUS boat may have occurred in its last 500.
For now, GBR and NED look like FA qualifiers.
