Croatia's bronze medalists from Sydney, Italy's 4th place crew, and Romania's 6th place crew will each have another shot at Great Britain's Olympic Champions. All four crews return substantially intact with most members from their Sydney crews present. Germany (absent from Sydney) and Russia (9th in Sydney) will try to get back into medal contention after disappointing seasons last year.
