This mock race report is presented in the traditional JAMCO format. It graphically displays the elapsed times, 500 meter split times and relative boat positions of the 8 men's eight oared crews after each 500 meters, as if they rowed exactly the same times as they did in their two Olympic heats and were all racing each other on an 8-lane course. The crews that turned gold in the third 500 meter segment were closing on Germany in the third quarter of the race, but Germany pulled away from all of them in the final 500 meters, posting the best overall time and the fastest final 500 meter split times in the first, second and fourth 500 meter segments.

Abbreviations: UKR is Ukraine. POL is Poland. GBR is Great Britain. USA is United States. GER is Germany. NED is Netherlands. AUS is Australia. CAN is Canada.
