Women's Quadruple Sculls (W4X)
2000 Olympic Games
Pre-Olympic Summary
August 13, 2000 -- The Women's quadruple sculls from Germany are legend
in winning gold medals, and this year looks like no exception. As the defending 1999 World
Champions, Germany returns with three members of its 1999 crew, and has won both of its
World Cup matches this summer in Munich and Lucerne. Second and third place finishes look
like a wild scramble between Ukraine, Russia and the United States who were 2nd, 3rd and
4th at the 1999 Worlds. Great Britain also had a World Cup victory over a 2nd place China
in Vienna, and neither can be counted out of the medals at Sydney.
